What we keep, and why.

Last updated September 11, 2026

The short version. One family per room. We keep what you type so the room works for you. We do not sell it, we do not use it for advertising, and nothing about your student goes to an outside company except the small, named services below that make a feature work. You can export or delete everything by asking.

1. Who this covers

This policy explains how WTW? College ("we") handles information for visitors to wtwcollege.com and for the families who use a family room. It goes with our Terms of Service.

2. What we collect

To open a room. A parent's first name and email address. Family members join by an invitation link and give a first name; they may add an email for sign in links and the morning digest.

To make the room work. What the parent enters at setup and later: home zip code, home state, the student's first name and high school, GPA and any test scores, the major family, activities, household income band (as a band, never a figure), budget, and the things the family says are true about itself (the kind of high school, memberships, heritage, activities and support). Everything the family writes in the room: weights, words, notes, answers in the games, shortlists, pins, questions asked of the research, and calendar edits.

To run the service. The time of each save, the device's sign in cookie, and server logs that record requests with their addresses for security and troubleshooting. We do not run advertising trackers and we do not use third party analytics.

If you write to us. Reports from the contact form and emails you send us, with the name and email you give.

Payment. If a parent buys a season, Stripe handles the card. We receive a confirmation, the email used, and a payment id. We never see or store the card number.

3. How we use it

We do not sell personal information, we do not share it for advertising, and we do not build profiles of students for anyone but their own family.

4. Who can see what inside a room

Everyone in a family room sees the same schools and the same numbers. Each person's words, answers and weights are visible to the rest of the room, labeled with their name; that is the point of the room. Nobody outside the room can see any of it. We, the operators, can access room data only to run the service, to answer a report you send us, or when the law requires it.

5. Services we use to make features work

We keep this list short and name each one. No service on it receives more than the feature needs.

ServiceWhat it doesWhat it receives
Amazon Web Services (United States)Hosts the site, the database, the email sender and the AI model. All family data lives here.Everything the room stores, inside our own account.
Amazon Bedrock (an AI model run inside our AWS account)Writes the summaries, nightly finds and answers to questions in the room. The public research about the schools involved and the family's own words and answers needed for that request. Amazon does not use these inputs to train models and does not keep them after the request.
StripeTakes payment for a season. The parent's email and the payment. Card details go to Stripe only.
Google Maps, Places and YouTubeCampus photos, maps and campus videos on a school page. The school's name and location. Nothing about your family.
Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons, Google News, Reddit, and each school's own websitePublic facts, photos, news and student discussion shown on a school page, with links to the source. The school's name. Nothing about your family.
Zippopotam.usTurns a zip code into a town, state and map point. The five digit zip code only.
Google FontsTypefaces on the public pages.A standard font request from your browser.

6. Children and students

Family rooms are created by a parent or guardian. A student under 18 uses the room only through that parent's invitation. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13; if you believe a child under 13 has given us information, email us and we will delete it. A parent can see everything in the room and can ask us to remove any of it.

7. How long we keep it

Room data stays while the room is open. When a room closes, whether because a family does not continue after the free week or asks us to close it, we delete its data within 30 days, except payment records we must keep and reports you sent us, which we keep so we can fix what they describe. Server logs are kept for up to 90 days. Cached public material about schools (photos, facts, news) is not personal data and is refreshed on its own schedule.

8. Your choices and rights

If you live somewhere with specific privacy rights (for example, the EU, the UK or California), you may also ask what we hold about you and object to how we use it. Write to us and we will respond within 30 days.

9. Security

Data is stored in our own cloud account, encrypted in transit and at rest. Sign in is by single use links rather than passwords. Access to the production systems is limited to the people who run the service. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach affecting your family, we will tell you promptly.

10. Changes

If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and, for material changes, tell you in the room or by email.

11. Contact
